Using the object-oriented, equation-based modeling language Modelica, it is possible to model and simulate computationally intensive models. To reduce the simulation time, a desirable approach is to perform the simulations on parallel multi-core platforms. For this purpose, several works have been carried out so far, the most recent one includes language enhancements with explicit parallel programing language constructs in the algorithmic parts of the Modelica language. This extension automatically generates parallel simulation code for execution on OpenCL-enabled platforms, and it has been implemented in the open-source OpenModelica environment. However, to ensure that this extension as well as future developments regarding parallel simulations of Modelica models is feasible, performing a systematic benchmarking with respect to a set of appropriate Modelica models is essential, which is the main focus of study in this work.

Investors’ sentiment has been a serious subject of study in the finance literature for a number of years. The research in behavioural finance is comparatively less in India. It is not possible for all retail investors to make a successful investment decision at all times. It is good to study periodically the investors’ sentiment to find out what really influence them. An attempt has been in this book to develop and validate a comprehensive model based on investors’ sentiment in Tamil Nadu. In short, this book explains how investment attitude is influenced by a variety of factors.
The root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne spp.) occupy a paramount position as they have wide host range, worldwide distribution and interaction (disease complex) with bacteria, fungi and viruses make them potentially serious constraints and limiting factors to the crop produce. They reduce yield and quality of susceptible vegetable and other crops .The plant parasitic nematodes severely caused damage to the cultivated crops. Majority of plant species (member of family Solanaceae and Cucurbitaceae) that account for the major world’s food supply are susceptible to attack from root-knot nematode which are capable of causing sustainable economic losses in the quantity and quality of the crops. The root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) cause an annual monetary loss to the tune of Rs. 547.50 million in cucurbits.The use of chemicals is not sustainable, it affects the agro-ecosystem adversely and have toxic effect to human health .Attentions have been diverted to standardize methods for eco-friendly management of nematodes. All these factors led to a search for safer and more compatible alternatives among which the nematostatic compounds from the plants or plant products.
Data compression is a term used to describe several techniques to reduce the size of files stored on computers. Data compression allows information to be transmitted from one computer to another faster, and it also makes more efficient use of computer storage space. The purpose of image compression is to reduce the amount of data for storage or transmission while maintaining the integrity of one or more aspects of the image. If the image is stored or transmitted for the purpose of being viewed, the compression process must retain implementation, visual integrity of the image. As the amount of information that is needed and available increases, the need for more efficient ways of representing this information increases as well. The goal of data compression is to provide the most efficient ways to represent this information. Compressed data can be downloaded more quickly, smaller quantities of data mean that web pages arrive quicker and take less bandwidth.
